РОЛЬ США У «ЗЕЛЕНІЙ РЕВОЛЮЦІЇ» В ІНДІЇ (ДРУГА ПОЛОВИНА 1960-х РОКІВ)
Анотація
Стаття присвячена дослідженню впливу США на проведення перетворень у сільському господарстві Індії у другій половині 1960-х років («зелена революція») та наслідків індійсько-американського співробітництва в продовольчій сфері як для індійської економіки, так і для взаємовідносин між цими двома країнами в цілому. Використовуючи масив наявних документальних даних та наукових досліджень, автор вивчає особливості втілення «зеленої революції» в Індії в контексті загального зовнішньополітичного курсу США у Південній Азії в означений період. Автор приходить до висновку, що хоч США в першу чергу займалися реалізацією власних інтересів, їхня діяльність все одно виявилася корисною для розвитку економіки Індії.

Статья посвящена исследованию влияния США на проведение преобразований в сельском хозяйстве Индии во второй половине 1960-х годов («зеленая революция») и последствий индийско-американского сотрудничества в продовольственной сфере как для индийской экономики, так и для взаимоотношений между двумя странами в целом. Используя массив имеющихся документальных данных и научных исследований, автор изучает особенности воплощения «зеленой революции» в Индии в контексте общего внешнеполитического курса США в Южной Азии в указанный период. Автор приходит к выводу, что хоть США в первую очередь занимались реализацией собственных интересов, их деятельность все равно оказалась полезной для развития экономики Индии.

The article is dedicated to the research of the Units States influence on carrying out reforms in the agricultural sector in India during the second half of the 1960s (the "green revolution") and the consequences of the Indo-US cooperation in the agricultural sector for the Indian economy as well as for the relations between these two countries in general. Using an array of available documentary evidence and scientific researches, the author examines the features of the embodiment of the "green revolution" in India in the context of overall United States foreign policy in South Asia during the designated period. The author concludes that although the United States primarily engaged in the realization of their own interests, their activities were useful for the economic development of India. India with the help of the United States reached the level of food self-sufficiency, significantly improved the situation in the agricultural sector and could deal with other problems without being distracted by solving the food problem accompanied by a rapid population growth.
