L.Y. GUREVICH AND K.S. STANISKAVSKY: ON THE PROBLEM OF CREATIVE INTERACTION
In the research article we recreate basic features of the creative interaction between L.Y. Gurevich, a talented literary and theatre critic, and K.S. Staniskavsky, an outstanding director and the author of the new system of dramatic art. Their creative cooperation lasted for half a century, always acquiring new aspects. The source of the historical-literary information was the letters of K.S. Staniskavsky to L.Y. Gurevich which were published in the seventh and the eighth volumes of his complete set of works. It is only a part of the set of letters which is available for readers and researchers. But it enables us to recreate the whole cooperation process. First it was an interest in each other’s literary and critical work and assessment of the written works and then – an exchange of thoughts about the reforms of the modern theatre stage. A separate aspect of their creative interaction was the editorial work of K.S. Staniskavsky. Without this work the successful publication of his books would be impossible.
Key words: creative interaction, editorial work, set of letters, literary criticism, memoirs.
