The article discusses the formation of the social competence of adolescents of the «risk» group by means of the dance art. The analysis of the scientific literature states that the social competence – social skills that enable a person to adequately comply with the norms and rules of life in the society. It is determined that dancing is an effective mean of the human’s inculturation, a universal language of the communication, an important lever in the formation of ideals, values, the man’s internal and external state. It is found that the use of dance in the formation, the expansion and the correction of the social competence of adolescents of the «risk» group will allow them to develop the ability to interact with others, to harmonize their relationships with the community, to make reasonable decisions; will form the practice of socially acceptable behavior, ways of relationships with the society; will allow them to еxpress hidden feelings, relationships; to cognize themselves and to understand others.
