He said when you got topics like ' Why do ladies fart?' on the frontpage or which do you prefer Chicken or turkey on a front page, then that kind of site cant be taken serious by any customer or investor. Am 100% certain seun can afford that RR 10 times over (or how are we certain seun doesn't own a bugatti or some highend luxury car because he doesn't show off) Seriously there is a lot of behind the scenes moves most people are not privy to about nairaland. Linda Ikeji is small fry compared to Seun Osewa am sure she knows this as well.Seun is loaded he is just keeping it on a low profile.
Nairaland is informative, loaded with educative and very useful information. Personally I have learnt a lot from visiting Nairaland and sealed some major deals.
On a final note Nairaland is number 1 in Nigeria and probably Africa as a whole. Nice concept Seun but do work on your graphics.

Seun thinks of himself as a geek but I think he's more of a nerd.
He knows what to do to make more money through ads but he seems content with the current status.
I think Seun should commercialise nairaland, hire very good mods and pay them well. Topics should be moderated before being exposed.
Also, the hired mods should source for news, linda is quite good with breaking news, nairaland should ensure that it's always the first source of info.

Owning a blog and owning a forum are two different things. Forums don't make much money like blogs (unless they're heavily monetised). Top blogging sites earn hundreds of thousands of revenues every month while forums usually struggle with less. The reasons linda makes more money than seun is not far fetched.
Forum users generate the content and not usually the owners. It is usually we nairalanders who source for news and information to post on this site, all seun does it to regulate and moderate. When last did he post any news concerning any topic? But linda ikeji sources for information and stories herself. This makes her an authority. The same cannot be said of nairaland where every tom, dick and harry can post anything he/she likes.
Linda Ikeji is also a blog that gossips about your favorite celebs and personalities. This attracts people more than anything.
Linda Ikeji is more social and talks about her personal life some of the time. She is also a woman and she's cute, hence people will patronize her more.
It is easier to navigate though linda ikeji's blog than through a forum like nairaland.
Linda has more flexible advertising options for businesses than nairaland. That means she monetizes her site better than seun.
There are more reasons, but I'll stop for now and like I said before, if seun is happy with the way nairaland is and the money he makes, then we shouldn't complain about it.
However, as owner of the most visited indigenous site in Nigeria, Seun is terribly messing up. Seun no vex, but thats my opinion.

Fact..very good fact. However why the comparison, the difference in online platform between Nairaland and ikeji is just too obvious. Naiaraland has the potential of unleashing an African JACK MAO, the name behind ALIBABA. Only if! Only if !Only if! Seun knows the empire within his grasp. Sure he knows but he is reluctant to unleash it..why i will never know. The issue here is.. does Seun have the business acumen to take it further to that level. Nairaland has become too important to fail or be none existent...that's how good this brand has come to be in Nigerian's eyes home and abroad. There is nothing i could suggest here that investment bankers haven't proffered. So why is he dragging his feet in making decisions to broaden it. Nairaland can be compared to Yahoo! presently not iKeji. Nairaland is a portal like yahoo ...for what's up with the world.

About the frontpage colour of Nairaland, I think Seun tried to immitate green, Nigeria's colour. I don't v anything about that. Afterall, Facebook also has blue as its theme colour.
Maybe Nairaland's colour may be changed occassionally to achieve variety.

Meanwhile, LIB is also full of trashy topics.
Both sites are guilty of trying to go off the serious biz way & getting something to lighten the mood.
However, I ll choose Nairaland over LIB or any other Nigerian site. This is a website. Not a blog that's limited to some areas.

Linda has total control on posts on her blog, anyone can create a topic on nairaland.
Seun thinks of himself as a geek but I think he's more of a nerd.
He knows what to do to make more money through ads but he seems content with the current status.
I think Seun should commercialise nairaland, hire very good mods and pay them well. Topics should be moderated before being exposed.
Also, the hired mods should source for news, linda is quite good with breaking news, nairaland should ensure that it's always the first source of info.

Owning a blog and owning a forum are two different things. Forums don't make much money like blogs (unless they're heavily monetised). Top blogging sites earn hundreds of thousands of revenues every month while forums usually struggle with less. The reasons linda makes more money than seun is not far fetched.
Forum users generate the content and not usually the owners. It is usually we nairalanders who source for news and information to post on this site, all seun does it to regulate and moderate. When last did he post any news concerning any topic? But linda ikeji sources for information and stories herself. This makes her an authority. The same cannot be said of nairaland where every tom, dick and harry can post anything he/she likes.
Linda Ikeji is also a blog that gossips about your favorite celebs and personalities. This attracts people more than anything.
Linda Ikeji is more social and talks about her personal life some of the time. She is also a woman and she's cute, hence people will patronize her more.
It is easier to navigate though linda ikeji's blog than through a forum like nairaland.
Linda has more flexible advertising options for businesses than nairaland. That means she monetizes her site better than seun.
There are more reasons, but I'll stop for now and like I said before, if seun is happy with the way nairaland is and the money he makes, then we shouldn't complain about it.
However, as owner of the most visited indigenous site in Nigeria, Seun is terribly messing up. Seun no vex, but thats my opinion.

Fact..very good fact. However why the comparison, the difference in online platform between Nairaland and ikeji is just too obvious. Naiaraland has the potential of unleashing an African JACK MAO, the name behind ALIBABA. Only if! Only if !Only if! Seun knows the empire within his grasp. Sure he knows but he is reluctant to unleash it..why i will never know. The issue here is.. does Seun have the business acumen to take it further to that level. Nairaland has become too important to fail or be none existent...that's how good this brand has come to be in Nigerian's eyes home and abroad. There is nothing i could suggest here that investment bankers haven't proffered. So why is he dragging his feet in making decisions to broaden it. Nairaland can be compared to Yahoo! presently not iKeji. Nairaland is a portal like yahoo ...for what's up with the world.

LIB on the other hand is a blog and as such only the owner of d blog has the right to start a new topic, pple only mk contributions based on what was posted by the owner of d blog. She has the right to do whatever she wants with her blog,pple don't keep diaries on LIB,or write stories or stuff like that.
So don't compare both of them cause they are not the same thing. Compare NL with other forums and compare LIB with other blogs.
